A few recommendations:
1. Use Google Chrome Canary for recording instead of your
usual browser. WM Capture can record Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, and other
streaming sites in high quality using Background mode. You can also use
Chromium browsers with video acceleration turned off.
2. Use the Background mode. Here is
what you can do to using the Background mode
record UHD videos (2K
and 4K)
hide the recording
video window so you can use the computer screen for something else
use the PIP (picture
in picture) mode to watch and record videos while opening other windows
record one movie and
watch another on your screen without interference between them (reroute)
3. Set
up the Video Format MP4 in Setting, Video Bitrate 8000 kbps and Frame rate
30 fps.
4. If your 4K monitor is an external monitor, we recommend:
setting this monitor
as Monitor #1, in other words, Monitor #1 is the monitor where WM Capture
opens.
set up your Display
resolution to 2560x1440. Right-click the Desktop->Display
setting-> Display resolution, select 2560x1440
or, in
Settings->Video capture options->Resize output video, type 1020x1080
Notes:
a) For recording high-quality videos larger than HD size (1920x1080) on 4K monitors, use an i7 / 4-core computer with Windows 10 or 11. Videos larger than 2K will have lower fps.
b) Screen capture mode results in lower fps for 2K or larger videos compared to Background mode.
c) Most streaming movies are full HD (1920x1080 / 60 fps), making it unnecessary to record 4K or 2K screens. Set your display to 1920x1080 resolution for WM Capture to record at 60 fps using the Background mode.
